Until I looked at the price tag I couldn't believe this sophisticated hobo bag came from Giorgio Armani's affordable diffusion line. It's so stylish and of such superior quality, it seems a steal at $280!
There's so much to like here, starting with that rich teal color. It's so deep that it's almost a neutral, so we can easily work it into our wardrobe while enjoying something more exciting than standard black or brown. The teal leather is complemented by wintery suede trim around the handles, flap, and base. Suede notoriously shows wear quickly, but by using it sparingly Armani makes sure this purse looks good for longer.
The teal shade is the ideal background for that shiny golden hardware. The metal really pops against the jewel-toned leather, making the purse appear that much richer. I'm also enamored with the handle. Who would have thought simply adding a few knots would make it appear so modern? I'm not sure how comfortable those knots will make carrying, but I'm willing to suffer a little for this dramatic look. At least there's another long strap available if it needles your shoulder.
Many designers spend so much time on the exterior they forget about what's inside. But not Armani, who offers all the pockets and space we need to get through the day.
Honestly I'm trying hard to find anything wrong with this purse. Perhaps it's one of those rare creatures without flaws, or perhaps its chic looks have blinded me!

This suitcase is sure to stand out on any baggage carousel, but it's more important that it works for you on your vacation. The good news about this trolley is that it probably will.
The zippered pockets we see outside are matched by the generously sized interior. It has another zippered pocket in the lid, and straps for holding down your clothes and other travel essentials.
Whatever it's made from, I wouldn't trust airport baggage handlers with it. Exotic skins are notoriously fragile, and cowhide isn't much better if it's punished. But if you're taking a road trip or looking for an enviable piece of carry-on luggage this could be your bag. At least that is if you've got a few thousand to spare!

Now we can report that the auction raised more than $26, 000 for Salvage Santa, the charity headed by the security guard who eventually took the shooter down.

Brahmin, the label who made the now famous bag, heard about the story and decided to match the money raised by the auction.

"We applaud the outstanding bravery of all those present at the meeting, especially of Ginger Littleton," said James Bunn, chief marketing officer for Brahmin. "In recognition of Ms. Littleton’s tremendous courage in taking action by standing up for others while risking her own life by doing so, Brahmin is proud to support her wonderful initiative to raise funds for charity."

That means the auction raised $26, 000 for the local Florida children's charity, an impressive markup on the purse's original $345 price tag. How wonderful that something so positive could come out of such a harrowing situation!

Christian Dior is a label that tends to stick with the tried and true. So I was thrilled to see it busting out a bit with this Libertine hobo.
This is a hobo that reminds us that slouch can look sophisticated. The buttery soft qualities of the leather are emphasized with gorgeous vertical folds. This hobo's shape is relaxed, as any good hobo should be, but I think those folds give it a bit more structure than the average.
The folds are the feature here, but the gold-toned hardware really finishes things off. I love the way the polished metal complements the black leather, adding just the right amount of richness.
The interior is nothing to rave about, but it's certainly not lacking. The time honored configuration of one zippered pocket and a pair of open ones is used here. It's not revolutionary, but it does the job of taking care of our daily swag.
The Libertine makes me swoon, but the price brings me back to reality. At $2300, it's simply too rich for my blood. But Santa, if you're reading, know that I've been really good this year!

Oh, Chloe, I almost always love you. You who have made motorcycle-inspired accessories so very very chic. Thanks for this totally awesome 80s style bucket bag that's both edgy and totally wearable.
The shape of this bag is such a traditional bucket, with the hard, structured bottom and the soft perforated top. The smooth drawstring and shoulder strap tie the look together, although I might prefer if they were in the same color leather as the perforated leather body. I'm just not sure that the bag needs the contrast.
My major bone to pick with this style is that the perforated part of the bag isn't lined. Sure, this adds to the look somewhat, but it vastly decreases its durability. And for $1,495, I really want a bag that will last. The bottom, however, is both sturdy and fully lined, so if you're feeling the look, it might be worth the risk.

LVMH Grabs More Hermes Shares | Louis Vuitton Company Increases Stake in French Fashion House

LVMH, the company responsible for Louis Vuitton, has taken a larger slice of the Hermes International pie. The brand bought 17.1% of the company in October, but recently upped its stake in the French luxury brand to around 20.21%.

LVMH originally insisted it had only "friendly" intentions towards Hermes, but the founding families weren't convinced. Given this recent development, I don't think I would be either.

These founding families currently own almost 72% of the company, so I can't imagine LVMH staging a takeover easily. But the Dumas, Puech, and Guerrand clans aren't taking any chances. They recently created a new holding company, thereby "detaining more than 50% of the Hermes International" to stave off a LVMH attack.

Many analysts are predicting that LVMH is simply biding its time, and waiting to wear the Hermes families down. Something tells me we'll be watching developments in this story well into 2011 and beyond.

Elaine Turner looks to appease women of all tastes with its Bianca clutch. There are several different Biancas to choose from, all with a very distinct evening look.
I think the pick of the bunch is this crocodile embossed purse. No one will think it's an authentic exotic, but I really like the way that silver peeks out between the pale ivory scales for just a hint of glitz. If the effect is too subtle for you, you won't be disappointed with some of the showier designs in the Bianca range. The espresso toned lizard bag and the bronze ring lizard purse are too gaudy for my tastes, but I know someone will fall for them!
Elaine Turner can get away with making some of her Biancas very flamboyant because the base design is so simple. The bamboo shaped turn lock closure is interesting, but everything else in this flap-style purse is pretty stock standard.
Ordinarily I'd think the drop-in chain was too heavy for an evening bag, but I think Elaine Turner gets away with the gamble here. It works well with the bamboo shaped clasp, but I wish it was longer. You might be able to hang it over your shoulder if you're petite, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
The lack of storage space is also disappointing, if not unexpected for an evening purse. The leather trimmed zip and accessory pockets are nice perks, but I'd trade them all for more room.
I'm not sure Elaine Turner has done enough to warrant charging $250 for the Bianca clutch, but that price still isn't exorbitant for an evening purse.

If you've never heard of Marni, you're probably American. Marni is kind of the European version of Marc by Marc Jacobs, a hip youthful line with a tinge of classicism. This rosette clutch has a quirky, feminine appeal that's elegant enough for grown ups too.

Carried out by the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, the study photographed 23 healthy adults after a restful eight hours of sleep, and then again after no more than five hours of sleep. Lab monitoring ensured that the participants got the prescribed amounts of sleep. The women in the study wore no makeup for the photos, and kept their hair down so as not to inadvertently influence the viewer's opinion.


The eight-hour and five-hour post-sleep photos were then rated by the general public on a scale of one to 10 in terms of attractiveness. The eight-hour slumberers won by a landslide.


'Sleep deprived people are perceived as less attractive and less healthy compared with when they are well rested,' concluded the study.


But the radiance-boosting benefits of sleep aren't just reserved for your skin. A separate study from the Belgravia Centre in Britain found that hair health and growth patterns can often be disturbed by lack of sleep, and can exacerbate male pattern baldness, as well as, thinning hair in women.
